Do you ever imagine that answer a question correctly can help a poor life? FreeRice is the site that brings this idea to life! For each answer you get right, you actually donate 20 grains of rice to help end hunger. So it’s time to throw your boredom away, play the game and win the life!

The Rise and the purpose

FreeRice 1 FreeRice is a sister site of Poverty.com. A web developer named Breen has invented the site, and typed in all 10,000 definitions after watching his son study for the SAT. It is considered an extremely remarkable event when entire school classes use the site for extended periods of time. Their partners are the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University and the United Nations World Food Program.

FreeRice has generally 2 goals to run on, which is to provide education to everyone for free and to help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free. This is made possible by the generosity of the sponsors who advertise this site and you who answer the question to help the life!

1 correct answer= 20 grains of hope to save a life

FreeRice 2 The game rule is easy enough for even a child can play. If you answer a question correctly, 20 grains of rice would be donated through the UN World Food Program to the impoverished area. Actually, the statistic showed that if you can answer 1000 question correctly (which is 20000 grains of rice in total), you can provide enough caloric intake to sustain an adult in one day!

Chemical question for you to save life

FreeRice recently has taking other subject such as German language, world capital, chemistry symbol and even famous paintings into their question scheme! This is a good news for those who is not very well in English vocabulary (such as me) but have a fabulous talent in another area, as if you can answer the question faster, there is more time for you to rise more rice for more life!

Challenge ranges from 0 to level 60

This level is currently available for English vocabulary question only. FreeRice allows people to choose the level to challenge. This is a very well option as an English beginner like me can just choose the suitable level to improve my English and help the poor in comfortable emotion (I mean, not torturing my brain!)

May you have a lifetime of happiness!

I love the game with fun and encouragement, and FreeRice is one of them. For every time you have landed on a milestone such as donated 10,000 grains of rice, FreeRice would generate different messages of encouragement such as “You have donated 10,000 grains of rice. Wow! Now that is impressive!”

I personally like the last message of encouragement when you reach 100,000: “You have donated 100,000 grains of rice. May you have a lifetime of happiness!” After this, parameter would be set back to 0 and you would start a new journey to the life time of happiness again!

More website to help the world

From the establishment of this website, I have been so impressed to see this kind of website shine to help the needed one. I hope more and more website like this can rise to help the world, and we can also help to contribute by promote them in some creative way!

Since the Falcon Hive is built based on the purpose of helping the needed one, I would organize a contest related with this site at the end of October or November. I believe you would like to join this movement, and together we form a better world!
