Set up the Date

You need to setup the Timestamp setting to make the date displayed properly on the page. To get this completed, access into ‘Settings’ and under the ‘Formatting’ tab, change the ‘Timestamp Format’ to this format: ‘Tuesday, December 23, 2008’, ‘Save Settings’ and you can see the date displayed perfectly on the page!

How to hide article’s content on the main page

As this template got ‘Read More’ function, you probably want to hide some text from being displayed on the main page. In fact, you just need some extremely easy step to achieve this. Simply copy the highlighted code below, then access into ‘Settings’ and under the ‘Formatting’ tab, paste the code into the ‘Post Template’.

<span class=”fullpost”></span>

On the next time you write an article, you just need to add this line of code to hide the text. For example,

<span class=”fullpost”>Here are the texts you want to hide</span>

Set up the ‘Featured Content’

To setup the featured content, simply copy the code below, then access into ‘Layout’ and under the ‘Page Element’, clicks on the ‘Edit’ of the ‘featured content’, paste and edit the code with the corresponding item.

<h3><a href=’ORIGINAL-POST-LINK-HERE’ title=’POST-TITLE’>POST TITLE</a></h3>

<p>Hi, please place your part of post content here.</p>

<div class=”post-meta”>

<a class=”btn btn-teal” href=’ORIGINAL-POST-LINK-HERE’>Read More</a>

</div>

Set up the theme color

As this template is named as ‘Color Paper’, it actually got color-switching feature, which you can switch the color of some part such as ‘Read More’ to Orange, Teal, Pink, Purple, and Green color.

To succeed this, access into ‘Layout’ and under the ‘Edit HTML’ tab, check the ‘Expand Widget Templates’ then press [CTRL+F3] to find the highlighted code below and replace with any of the color described above.

<a class=’btn btn-teal’ expr:href=’data:post.url’>Read More</a>

<span class=’teal’><data:post.numComments/></span> <data:commentLabelPlural/>

<span class=’teal weight-bold verdana block large’>

    Hi Erika Jean!

I have visited your blog and seems you have configured the Timestamp properly, enjoy blogging ya! :D

  18. Alvaris Falcon December 27, 2008 at 7:22 am

Hi The Not So Talkative Man,

    Nice to meet you!

You can actually find the solution at the part, ‘set up the date’ in the post, enjoy! ;)

  19. The Not So Talkative Man December 27, 2008 at 7:54 am

    Hello Alvaris,

Thanks for the prompt reply. You see, I have tried following the date stamp instruction in the post.

For some inexplicable reason, it still shows my date tab as “undefined, undefined”.

    What could be the problem?

    Help please!

  20. The Not So Talkative Man December 27, 2008 at 7:56 am

Whoopsie! Sorry, I managed to fix the problem. I had been editing the date stamp instead of the time stamp, hence the problem! Sowwie! :D

  21. Alvaris Falcon December 28, 2008 at 8:55 pm

Hi The Not So Talkative Man,

It’s okay buddy, enjoy your blogging with this template! :D

  22. Erika Jean December 29, 2008 at 5:08 pm

My problem is not with the timestamps… the picture that is supposed to be the tab isn’t showing also there is issues with the background (not right size?)

    http://www.erikajean.com

  23. Alvaris Falcon December 29, 2008 at 6:08 pm

    Hi Erika Jean!

I can see your problem, it’s generally because of this code:

    img src=”http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e2/alvaris924/Color%20Paper%20Project/date.gif”

Remove the ‘img src’ and everything would be perfect! ;)

  24. Rober December 30, 2008 at 1:04 pm

please, I seem to be having problems with the backgound! Please help… it’s not big enough?

    thanks for this fantastic template!!!!

it is something with the main-top image…

  26. YuKii ❤ December 31, 2008 at 4:50 am

Hey Alvaris. This is truly a beautiful template, but i was wondering if i could edit the color of the background? I know you said we could edit some minor parts but the i wanted to change the color of the bar in the background. *It’s a bar right?* Lol you didn’t put up the images…i wonder if it’s possible =)

  27. Cully January 1, 2009 at 9:22 pm

For those having trouble with the date change the TIMESTAMP settings, NOT the Date Header Format, that should fix the problem.

  28. Alvaris Falcon January 2, 2009 at 1:09 am

Hi Yukii, nice to meet you!

Yes we can change the color of ‘Read More’ tab, comment number, and comment’s author as well, which do you want to change? :)

  29. Alvaris Falcon January 2, 2009 at 1:23 am

    Hi Erika,

I’m glad that you have fixed the date tab!

As for the background, I can’t view the image from your background image’s URL:
    http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k54/airrikaswan/background-1.gif

Are you sure that the image URL is correct? or you can replace the link with the URL below to test the background:
    http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e2/alvaris924/Color%20Paper%20Project/background.gif

Hope this helps and keep blogging! ;)

  30. Alvaris Falcon January 2, 2009 at 1:36 am

    Hi Rober!

Thanks for your words, nice to meet you!

I have visited and checked your blog, and the problem is the code below:
    (http://i555.photobucket.com/albums/jj449/llanonman/main-back.gif) repeat-x top center

Please change the ‘repeat-x’ to ‘no-repeat’ to get the correct view. ;)

Hope this helps and enjoy blogging!

Hi! Great theme! I’ve used it on my blog with some personal touch. but if I’ve figured it aut how to change some images I don’t know how to change the colour for the links inserted into the body of a post. now it appears as if it is written with bold.
    My blog is http://i-deagrup.blogspot.com/
    Thank YOU!

  34. June January 3, 2009 at 1:21 pm

Hi! This theme is great, looks flawless in Firefox, but look terribly out of whack in IE…any way you could also optimize this for IE? Thanks! :)

  35. Deepak January 3, 2009 at 5:52 pm

Hey, thanks for this awesome template!

I seem to have a problem similar to Rober’s – My background is misaligned/misproportioned.

Wud really appreciate if you could help.. thanks!

  36. I-Dea GRUP January 4, 2009 at 1:24 pm

Is it possible to make available the color changing feature for anyone who’s visiting the blog? it wold be awosome.

  37. Sleepy January 4, 2009 at 7:59 pm

First of all, thanks a lot for the template!

I seem to be having issues getting the template to display both the labels for posts and their quick edit links.

Is there a way to reenable them? Thanks!

  38. Alvaris Falcon January 5, 2009 at 12:52 am

    Hi Serge,

    Thanks for your words!

Did you replace the ‘YOUR-LINK-HERE’ with the hosted image URL before the upload?

If you have done it, the only reason should be the image size is big enough to increase its loading speed, thus creating loading error.

Hope this helps and enjoy blogging. :)

  39. Nadia January 5, 2009 at 5:36 am

Hi! I just wanted to thank you guys for this wonderful template and to share an idea for placing adsense on the template.

Keep up with the good work in 2009!

  40. Amalee January 5, 2009 at 6:24 am

Hi… can we change the font format in for this template? If so, how do we do that? Thanks

  41. Ave January 5, 2009 at 8:45 am

Thanks for the templates. Very professional for a FREE template, just love all of them! Great job Falcon – you’re the best!

  42. June January 5, 2009 at 9:54 am

    Hi again!

I have to take back what I said about this template showing "out of whack" in Internet Explorer. I just figured out that my fonts were set to 'largest' that's why the fonts were totally out of place and occupied the entire page. Great theme & thanks Alvaris Falcon! :)

  43. Rober January 5, 2009 at 2:28 pm

    Hi Alvaris!

I have the same problem with
    “main-back.gif”

I changed the ‘repeat-x’ to ‘no-repeat’ but I could not solve the problem.

If I use your link… “http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kMUpUqMmduA/SVsJ1e8p6ZI/AAAAAAAABJM/SF21UOa4X_w/s1600/main-back.gif” there is no problem… but if I use my link “http://i555.photobucket.com/albums/jj449/llanonman/main-back.gif”… something is wrong.

Thank you very much for your help!!!

  44. Alvaris Falcon January 6, 2009 at 12:05 am

    Hi I-Dea GRUP,

Thanks for your words and nice to meet you!

I have visited your nice blog, you can change the font weight and font color by modify codes below:

    a:link, a:active, a:visited {
    font-weight:bold; color:#4a413a;
    text-decoration:none;
    }

    Hope this helps, enjoy blogging!

  45. Alvaris Falcon January 6, 2009 at 12:05 am

    Hi June,

Thanks for your praise, I’m glad that you enjoy this template. :D

  46. Alvaris Falcon January 6, 2009 at 12:06 am

    Hi Amalee!

Yes, we can change the font format for this template.

Since I’m not adding color and font-changing feature inside this template, we can only change the format under the ‘Edit HTML’ mode.

Which part of the font do you want to change?

  47. Alvaris Falcon January 6, 2009 at 12:07 am

    Hi Nadia,

Thank you! We appreciate your thanks and comment very much. :)

Yeah we are in 2009 now, and trying our hardest to keep up the best contribution, thanks! :D

  48. Alvaris Falcon January 6, 2009 at 12:07 am

    Hi Sleepy,

First of all, we appreciated your thanks very much! :D

Can we take a look at your blog? Thanks!

  49. Alvaris Falcon January 6, 2009 at 12:08 am

    Hi Rober!

Wow, your report is effective that I know the problem now!

It's actually about the Photobucket. Under the 'Upload Image & Video' section there's got a 'Reduce to' option, change it to '1 megabyte file size' then upload the image again, you can have an original size image displayed on your blog!

Hope this works and keep blogging. ;)

  50. Alvaris Falcon January 6, 2009 at 12:09 am

    Hi Deepak,

    Thanks for your words!

Yes, your problem is similar with Rober.

You can login into Photobucket and under the 'Upload Image & Video' section, you can see there's got a 'Reduce to' option, change it to '1 megabyte file size' then upload the image again, you can also have original size image displayed on your blog. ;)

Hope this helps and enjoy blogging!

  51. Rober January 6, 2009 at 6:50 am

    Hi Alvaris!

Thanks for your help, now all is correct and I am very very grateful.

Thanks again, for your job, your web and your fantastic templates.

  53. Mr &amp; Mrs Marine January 8, 2009 at 12:51 pm

    Dear Alvaris,
This is such a nice looking template! Thank you very much. Could you help me figure out how to get the “Color Paper” section to the top right of the page rather than the bottom right? I have been trying to move it for hours and I’ve been able to move it about everywhere except where I want it to be! Thank you very much.

  54. YuKii ❤ January 9, 2009 at 6:48 am

Actually i was hoping to change the background color lol. But it's all right now, i've grown very attached to it =) My friends all say it's beautiful and very neat! Thanks very much =>

  55. Alvaris Falcon January 9, 2009 at 7:49 pm

    Hi Yukii,

I’m glad to see that you and your friends are comfortable with this template, enjoy blogging ya!

  56. Alvaris Falcon January 9, 2009 at 7:55 pm

    Hi Mr & Mrs Marine,

Thanks for your words, nice to meet you!

Did you mean to move the word, 'Color Paper' to a higher position than original place? You can change some of the codes inside the class, #logo h1 {}.

You might need to modify the value of margin-top or add a margin-bottom and its value to move the word. ;)

Thank you very much. I’ve just started my blog and I am happy with this template. Visit my blog and see it: http://hot-coolmix.blogspot.com/

I really want to try this template, I love it! but I’m having trouble uploading one of the pictures to picturetrail. I keep getting:
Upload failed for page-title-divider.png with error: Resize error:Bad resize geometry: 160 x 0

I selected reduce to: 1 megabyte file size limite. I’ve tried others too, can’t get it to work. I also tried uploading to a different site but it failed. Any suggestions?

  60. Víctor Manuel January 14, 2009 at 3:56 am

Hi. I just wanted to thank you for making this available to those of us who depend on free templates. It’s just the kind of template I had been hoping for and your instructions were very detailed and useful. The work you do is very important because it opens up the wonders of e-publishing technology to those of us who can’t hire designers to do this kind of work. I am now subscribed to your blog.

  61. Brooke January 14, 2009 at 9:56 am

love the template, very beautiful. is it possible to remove the “read more” option from the posts?

  62. Shelby Craig January 14, 2009 at 1:54 pm

    Hi Kris,

Thanks for your report, I’m also glad to see that you love this template.

Although Photobucket said the ‘page-title-divider.png’ was failed to upload, but it was actually uploaded to the server. So please don’t worry about that image, enjoy blogging with this template! ;)

  64. Alvaris Falcon January 15, 2009 at 1:31 am

    Hi Victor Manuel,

Thanks for your words and subscribe, we appreciate these very much. :)

This template is originally free in WordPress world, so is it in Blogger world. Our core is contribution, and we are excited in contribute more to Blogger world, thanks for your support!

  65. Alvaris Falcon January 15, 2009 at 1:42 am

    Hi Shelby Craig,

    Thanks for your report!

I have visited your site and it looks very well, with just a problem that some images are disappeared. I have discovered that template images are hosted in different server, and some of the URL are generally weird.

Though it’s right to host images in different server, I suggest you to host all images in one server such as Photobucket, as this might be the solution for your problem.

Hope this helps and enjoy blogging!

P.S. ‘Small group study on a specific topic such as discipline’ is a good idea for parenting assistance. ;)

  66. dyoonet January 15, 2009 at 10:02 am

    Hi Alvaris!

Awesome work bloggerizing this theme! I’ve used it for my blog, and tweaked it a little to suit my needs.

I just know a little coding though, so I’m a little stumped here. Is there a way for me to put ads or graphics or anything else on the green area on the title area? I tried inserting an image and it would fall off the border. What code will I use instead of a table to make 2 columns on the ‘featured’ area as well?

    Thanks for your help! :)

  67. Shelby Craig January 15, 2009 at 12:30 pm

    Alvaris…

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there any easy way to download all the images?

Let me say though, even in hosting the images with the the origianl hosting in the code, it still had missing images on the blog except my computer. Weird ??!!??

seems like you are usually pretty good at responding to comments… can get a response to my question, pretty please? :-)

  70. Hella Kribi Rmdhane January 17, 2009 at 9:51 pm

Yes thank you. I will explain here in french for other users :
"si sur le template vous avez toujours "undefined undefined" là où devrait être l'heure : il faut aller dans blogger dans "Paramètres" > "Mise en forme" et dans "Format de date et d'heure" (la 4ème case) choisir le format "samedi, janvier 17, 2009". Et voilà normalement ça marche.
    bon courage.

hi Alvaris–I figured it out! had to expand the widgets in the html. i have another question though, having trouble getting a script to run. i’ve tried placing it in a separate html/java widget thing, and i’ve tried putting it at the bottom of the main body html, but it still won’t work. help?

  74. Dan and Debbie January 19, 2009 at 7:33 pm

    Alvaris,

I love this template and have attempted loading it onto my blog. But as you can see, I'm having major issues and haven't been able to figure out what I've done wrong. If you could give a look at my blog & offer some help, I'd really appreciate it. Some of the things I have to fix are:
    – text is off the text box
    – title of post is not on text box

Can you please send me the tutorial on how to update the time/date stamp. I am also having the “undefined” problem and I didn’t understand the fix mentioned in the comments.

  76. Shelby Craig January 19, 2009 at 9:47 pm

Ok…I did what you said but only have one small problem. I have comb through the code but can’t find the answer. Two set of eyes are better than one.

The only thing I have is that my background is not lining up with each other.

Thank you for creating this gorgeous template. I am having trouble hiding the article’s content on the main page. I followed your instructions for pasting the fullpost/span html under the Formatting tab and even copied your text example into a test blog post to see if it would work, but the main content still isn’t hidden. Any idea why this might be happening? Thank you!

    Thank you!
This is a super beautiful and artistic template~~ !
    I like it very much!!
Just I found that the tag of each post seems to be missing… but still thank you for your great job~!! :D

    Hi Brooke,

I’m glad that you have figured out the way!

Can I know the detail of the ‘separate html/java widget thing’? Which part do you actually want to put the widget on?

Hope to hear more from you, thanks!

  84. Alvaris Falcon January 25, 2009 at 12:22 am

    Hi Dan & Debbie,

Thanks for your comment and request, I'm glad that you love this template and using it!

I have visited your blog (Work of HeART, a good name!) and it's simply perfect. :)

Thanks again for your words, we are sure to bring you more beautiful Blogger template!

  85. Alvaris Falcon January 25, 2009 at 12:25 am

    Hi Alison,

Thanks for your comment! You can refer to the ‘Set up the Date’ part in the article, the key is to change the ‘Timestamp Format’ to format like: ‘Tuesday, December 23, 2008’.

    Hope this helps, thanks!

  86. Alvaris Falcon January 25, 2009 at 12:28 am

    Hi Sarah,

Thanks for your report! I have visited your blog and you hid the remaining content very well, enjoy blogging! ;)

  87. Alvaris Falcon January 25, 2009 at 12:33 am

    Hi Miss Penman,

Thanks for your words, we appreciate this love so much!

I can see your background is lined up perfectly, great job! You can just post more articles to separate the content background and footer background.

Hope this helps and enjoy blogging!

  88. Alvaris Falcon January 25, 2009 at 12:40 am

    Hi Cecily,

Wow, thanks for your Love, love, LOVE! I'm glad that you love this template so much!

I can't view your blog in the following URL, but it's okay! Did you use the Photobucket to host the images? You can refer to the quote below:

'It's actually about the Photobucket. Under the 'Upload Image & Video' section there's got a 'Reduce to' option, change it to '1 megabyte file size' then upload the image again, you can have an original size image displayed on your blog!'

If your header image is aligning properly but just content and footer background are not aligning properly, you can just post more articles to separate the content and footer background.

Hope this helps and enjoy blogging ya!

  89. Alvaris Falcon January 25, 2009 at 12:45 am

    Hi Ian Ralsis

Thanks for your words and report! We are always here to help you. ;)

I have tested the template and it’s perfect with the comment, did you turn off something in ‘Comments’ setting?

It’s possible to hide the content, note that you have not only to paste the corresponding tag into ‘Post Template’ under the ‘Formatting’ tab, but also apply the tag into your article.

    Hope this helps, thanks!

This template is awesome – it was just what I was looking for. Since I am a brand new blogger your explanations and instructions were great! A few questions…
    1) Can I reduce the space between the format-content box and the actual posts?
    2) How can I insert links of other blogs I am reading (preferably on the side of the blog)
    My blog: http://sarahsandersonwanderlust.blogspot.com/

    My email: sanderson.58@osu.edu

    Thanks!
    Sarah =)

  96. Sarah Sanderson January 29, 2009 at 7:27 am

This is an awesome template! Thanks! I am a new blogger and your instructions were great. I have a few questions:

    1) Can I make the space smaller in the feature content part (there is a big space between that and the posts)

    2) Can I put pictures in the feature content part? How?

    3) Is there a way I can post a list of blogs that I read (or ‘follow’) on the side of the blog – like under the archive spot?

    Thanks for the help!

I love this template, and it looks great in my firefox window, but when I open it in Internet Explorer it is misaligned and the right column with “color paper” and everything below is pushed WAY down where you have to scroll a lot to even see it. How can I fix this for Internet Explorer?

    Thanks!

    Hi Vandit,

Thanks for your report! I have checked the template and there’s no customized Adsense feature in this template. It might be the Adsense or self-customization issue, you can refer the Adsense guide in the following URL to solve the issue:

    Hope this helps, thanks!

    Hi Ian Ralsis,

    Thanks for your further report!

I have visited your nice blog and discovered that the embedded comment form appeared at the bottom of the single post, congratulations!

I have checked again the template and the hiding content feature is still functioning properly. You can confirm again the Post Template is saved with the corresponding tag inside, and make sure the post content is applied with the tag.

    Hope this helps, enjoy blogging!

  103. Alvaris Falcon February 12, 2009 at 7:05 pm

    Hi Sarah Sanderson,

Thanks for your praise, I’m glad that this template is just what you looking for!

Sure, you can reduce the space between the format-content box and the actual posts, you just need to change some corresponding CSS code inside the template. You need to access into ‘Layout’ and under the ‘Edit HTML’ tab, check the ‘Expand Widget Templates’ and edit the CSS code (the code with many numbers specified) inside it.

Same with the previous one, you just need to change corresponding CSS code to make the space smaller in the feature content part. You surely can put pictures in the feature content part with some HTML code.

You can add gadget like Link List Gadget, Blog List Gadget or Feed Gadget to insert links of others blog you are reading, you can study their function by refer to the following URL:
    http://help.blogger.com/

Hope this helps, and enjoy the Blogger world!

  104. Alvaris Falcon February 12, 2009 at 7:11 pm

    Hi Mary,

Thanks for your words, nice to meet you!

Hope this helps, thanks for your visit!

  105. Alvaris Falcon February 12, 2009 at 7:13 pm

    Hi gusdigital,

    Hi Sudeip V Nair,

Thanks for your words and report, I’m glad that you loved this theme. :)

To setup the ‘Timestamp Format’, you have to access into ‘Settings’ and under the ‘Formatting’ tab, change the ‘Timestamp Format’ to any option you preferred, ‘Save Settings’ to achieve the date on your blog!

    Hope this helps, thanks!

  107. Alvaris Falcon February 12, 2009 at 7:19 pm

    Hi Christine,

I’m joyous to hear that the instructions were easy to follow!

Yes, you have to update the featured content manually. We are still studying and seeking a way to auto-update it, thanks for your great idea!

  108. Alvaris Falcon February 12, 2009 at 7:24 pm

    Hi pedro andrade,

I love this template, it’s beautiful!

I’m planning to change my blog’s look and after going across many templates available out there… I found this and I instantly fell in love with this template.

But I would like to know if it’s possible to add labels to my every posts (sth like “posted in: Label 1, Label 2”)… preferably under the post titles?

Is my nuffnang header ad the cause of this problem?

  115. Terence McDanger February 17, 2009 at 4:29 pm

    Hi Alvaris,
excellent work here, very well done.

I knowe you answered this above but I can’t understand the instructions. How exactly do I insert photographs into the featured content area? I want to use this area to display content that I will only change once a month or so, so would like to put photos etc. in here and not text.

  116. Terence McDanger February 18, 2009 at 3:50 am

Hi Sol, after posting above I was able to add a photo by editing in Layout and Page elements.

If you find a photo somewhere on web or on your computer that you want to use, just visit http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_images.asp and you’ll find help there on how to get code to add to your blog. Worked for me!

Alvaris, I have another question. Is there a way in which I can remove the feature content box altogether?

Hello, I recently purchased a domain name and switched blogger’s publishing options so that my posts are published on my domain name rather than myblog.blogspot.com. When I do this, all of the template graphics are lost – is there any fix to this? The graphics come back if I switch back to publishing on my blogspot address. I’ll try and leave the blog up so you can see:

    Hi CeeCee,

Nice to meet you, I'm happy to hear that you love this template!

Your background issue can be caused by your option in the Photobucket. Please access into your Photobucket account and under the 'Upload Image & Video' section there's got a 'Reduce to' option, change it to '1 megabyte file size' then upload the image again, you can probably have the right background to line up!

    Hope this helps, enjoy customizing!

  143. Anonymous March 9, 2009 at 3:01 am

    Hi Alvaris
I am a newbie to blogging. I love your Color Paper template very much. I have spent a fair bit of time to trial and error and read up various blogger helps sites to customise the template to the stage that it looks like this now: http://ystesting.blogspot.com/ (Note: this is testing blog to make sure I got it right before using it). My question is on the Header. What I have done is to remove the HTML2 default header of Color Paper template and replace it with the blogspot header using the add gadget button so that I can easily add picture to the blog header (I like photography so this feature is key to me). I recokoned that if I change “true” to “false” in Edit HTML in “id=HTML2 Locked=true” then I will be able to remove the default header in page element, and i did it successfully. Then using the Add Gadget feature, I have added the Header from the blogspot. I have also added a picture in the header. Now I have some problems: 1. the picture does not fit quite well into the centre of the header background color paper. 2. I do not know how to change the text color of the page title and page description in the header from dark color to something lighter so it stands out from the background picture that I have inserted. I would truly appreciate your help, as I am just so close to get the template completed, I will not bother you should I have not tried very best to solve it first.

    Thanks

  144. tara ng March 9, 2009 at 3:10 am

    Hi Alvaris

I have customised the color paper template to this, pls see my testing blog at http://ystesting.blogspot.com/ I have removed the default header HTML2 and replaced it by the blogger standard header by using the add gadget button, so i can add picture the header (top feature content), as you may see it my blog now. My problem are: 1. the pic doesnt fit quite well to the feature content. In addition, I dont know how to change the text color of the page title and page description from dark to some light color so it stands out from the colorful image. Appreciate your help… I have been doing a lot of trial & error but to no success.

Hi! First, i would like to say thank you very much for sharing this awesome blogger template. Its been a breeze setting it up. Thank you, thank you!

I have a question though, is there a way to “center” the gadgets/widgets” on my sidebar? Having the widgets aligned left seemed a bit off since the sidebar is configured to be wider than most of the sizes of my widgets. Hope you could help me out. Thanks a lot! Keep on.

    Hi Kent,

Thanks for your words! I have personally visited your meaningful blog and discovered that it was the aftermath of the customization. As Color Paper Blogger template relies heavily on the fixed image, it’s not recommended to perform any layout customization.

    Hope this helps! ;)

  148. Kent March 25, 2009 at 10:55 am

What type of customization are you referring to? I did not intend any customization. so If you know what I have done, I will make an attempt to undo it. Thanks.

  149. Kent March 25, 2009 at 11:03 am

    Alvaris,
Also, can you send me the tutorials/codes for getting the “labels” working on each of the posts? Thank you very much. my email is kent.cox@gmail.com

I did everything it said to do… but blogger has an error every time I try to upload it. What’s going on?

  151. Jonathan March 26, 2009 at 11:17 pm

Ok, I got it to upload, now it says “undefined” where the date should be. What’s up with that?

  152. mti March 28, 2009 at 12:42 pm

    Hi Alvaris.
The template is sweet and great. But i have a problem.
İ tried date format. But it said ‘Undefined’

How do I remove the wrench and screwdriver image from the blog title section with the color tabs?

    http://swedelady.blogspot.com/

    Thank you!

  155. Maffu April 3, 2009 at 4:54 am

I can’t seem to get it to work :/

the text of my blog posts goes off to the left of the left hand paper column, i.e. past the date tabs and out into the background.

Any ideas why this is happening?

  157. Carlos Rodrigues April 7, 2009 at 6:17 am

    Hi, from Portugal.
I have the same problem of June, Sara and WM.
In Firefox and Internet Explorer 7 the layout works fine, but in Internet Explorer 6 the right column is pushed down to the bottom of the page.
How can I solve this issue?
    Anyone…?
    Thanks in advance.

Wow! not only are your templates beautiful, your level of service (especially for a FREE template) is amazing. Thank you so much for answering people’s questions here so that other people can figure out how to fix problems just by reading your replies!

I had a problem with everything lining up correctly which was easily fixed by your posted suggestion of re-uploading everything on photobucket at the 1-megabite size and the undefined date was fixed easily too.(like many people here I was changing the date stamp not the time stamp, duh!)

Anyway, thanks again your hard work is deeply appreciated!
    cheers.

    Falcon,
I LOVE this template! I’m working on starting a family guide blog for our area and wanted to use the featured content space for photos. My only issue is that I am unable to get rid of the text there. How can I do that?

    Thank You!

how fix the date problem? i’ve changed the format for date and nothing.

  162. Timothy Murray April 17, 2009 at 1:20 pm

    Hi,

Great template, after a year and a half, this is the first time my wife has let me consider changing from standard blogger template.

    I have three questions/problems.

First – if you go my test blog redchairs.blogspot.com you’ll see two different test posts involving a photo. Whenever a photo’s has the float setting rather than the align setting I get the error that you can see. Any ideas on how to fix this in the template?

Secondly – When ever I display more than 40 posts at one time, the post background only repeats for the first 40. Ideas?

Finally – I can’t get the color tabs to work. If they don’t work that’s fine, but I’d love to get them working if I can.

    Thanks!

  163. Timothy Murray April 17, 2009 at 1:23 pm

    Swede Lady,

Just sign out of blogger.com and then visit your blog. It only shows up because you’re signed in.

    It’s a quick edit link.

  164. Timothy Murray April 18, 2009 at 8:59 am

    Two more questions:

I’ve added a blog list and I want to be able to format the different text parts. Do you know where I can do that? (Blog Title, Description, Last Updated)

Also the right column divider doesn’t show after a text or html widget. Any ideas?

  165. Timothy Murray April 18, 2009 at 9:00 am

    btw the blog is redchairs.blogspot.com

  166. vandit April 20, 2009 at 12:34 pm

  167. The Alpha Team April 20, 2009 at 1:24 pm

Hi! First off thank you so much for such an awesome template. It’s gorgeous! I was wondering if there’s ANY possible way to remove the featured content block altogether. I will really appreciate your response. Thanks again!

  170. Lugu May 12, 2009 at 6:28 am

Hi! thanks for the template. I just have some questions.

I’ve tried to get the “read more” thing working, but ’til now haven’t been able… Could you please tell how to do it? (I even tried with the instructions in he blogger help)

And, can you please send me the tutorial/codes to get labels in each post?

    Thanks.

  171. beto May 23, 2009 at 5:15 pm

I can’t get the date right. I’ve already changed the format to that said above, but it doesn’t work. What can I do?!

    • Alvaris Falcon May 29, 2009 at 12:58 am

      Thanks for your report!

Can I confirm to you that you are changing the ‘Timestamp format’ but not ‘Dateheader format’? Thank you! ;)

  172. Melissa May 23, 2009 at 6:19 pm

    Hi Alvaris,

Thank you so much for your great template & instructions. Could you please send me the tutorial for how I can add labels, and also instructions on how to change the font for the post titles? Also, is there any 3-column version of this template?

    Thank you,
    Melissa

  173. Sarah Lacamoire May 26, 2009 at 6:25 am

    Hi there,

Would you please tell me how to change the size of an individual post’s title? I currently leave the “title” field blank when writing a new post (because it’s so big) and it is messing up my RSS feed. Thank you!

  174. Bitas June 5, 2009 at 2:13 pm

    Hi :)
This template is fantastic, but i still have problems with the date :(
Can you help me?! Thank You :)

    • Alvaris Falcon June 11, 2009 at 1:37 am

Thanks for your kind words! You can follow the ‘Set up the Date’ section in the post to set up the date properly, please noted that you are changing the ‘Timestamp’ but not ‘Dateheader’.

      Hope this helps! ;)

  175. charissa June 9, 2009 at 2:18 pm

2 things I need help with:

-How do you change the Featured Post area to a photo? When I go to Layout>Page Elements and click on Edit nothing happens.

-In the instructions above I could not see the code for hiding part of the post and using the Read More button. Can anyone give me instructions for that?

    Thank you so much!

    • Alvaris Falcon June 13, 2009 at 2:32 pm

      Thanks for your comment!

Did you mean to add a photo into featured post area? You can probably follow the ‘Set up the Featured Content’ section and add the code below into the HTML/JavaScript gadget:

      < !img src='IMAGE-LINK-HERE'/>
(Please ignore the ‘!’ sign while adding the code)

Sure, I have updated the post to explain more about configuring ‘Read More’ feature. ;)

      Hope this helps, enjoy customizing!

  176. charissa June 9, 2009 at 3:34 pm

one other quick thing, how can i see tags at the end of each post?

  177. Snead June 11, 2009 at 1:02 am
