After the presentation of PlayStation 4 console, it is expected that there will be a boom in the development of video games. This was commented by Michel Denny, the vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment. The company also believes that it will not be the only one to create new games, and it expects numerous third-party titles also to appear in response to the launch of PlayStation 4. This statement was made by Denny in an interview with CVG web page.
The intentions of Sony Computer Entertainment are to innovate in the development of new genres that were not covered before launching PlayStation 4. “With PlayStation 4, what’s exciting is we can see the strength in depth of titles come through – not just in first party but third party, and I really believe PlayStation 4 will have the strongest launch line-up we have ever had,” commented Denny.
Indeed, there are already studious ready to present their video games designed for PlayStation 4 and these are reported to be Evolution Studios presenting DriveClub, Sony’s Guerilla Games with Killzone Shadow Fall and Ubisoft Montreal launching Watch Dogs. Also, Knack game may be introduced by Sony itself.
The prices of video games created for Xbox and Play Station 4 are not decided yet, but it is discussed that the launch prices may be higher than the prices some months later. This was discussed by Blake Jorgensen, chief financial officer of Electronic Arts. “Then over the life of those it’s drifted down to an introduction price of around $59. We have not yet set pricing on our gen-fours, but you’ll probably see a similar trend to that during the start of the next cycle,” Jorgensen comments.
It is expected that the price of the first video games created for PlayStation 4 will be between $49 to $69. However, the exact price is not specified yet.
