Wallpaper of the week #1: Spirit Charge

Falcon Hive has finally released the first wallpaper of the week! Named ‘Spirit Charge’, this wallpaper has showed my guidance-needed Photoshop skill and indeed, passion to contribute in graphic world! I have released 2 versions and resolutions of the wallpaper, and hope all of you can enjoy viewing the graphic and leave some comment on it, thanks!

Spirit Charge 800x600
Spirit Charge

Name: Spirit Charge
Type: Abstract
Resolution Range: 640×480~1024×768
Produced from: Adobe Photoshop CS3, Picasa 3 Beta
Build Time: 4.3 hours

General Concept- Spirit and charge?

The concept is very easy and can be understood by looking to the graphic. The ‘crystal’ on the center represents the spirit and the yellow light ray on every spirit’s tail represents the energy. When the spirit is charged by the energy (which produces some extra yellow ray), it would create a blue spirit nova. The graphic does not have specific means but may be just show some mental perception of mine about the spirit and its charge.

Graphic Development- Paintbrushes is the main character

‘Spirit Charge’ is created based on 2 famous tools, Photoshop CS3 and Picasa 3 Beta. I use Photoshop to create entire image with combination of custom paintbrushes, with some filtering and rendering effects on it. After the image is completed, I used the Picasa 3 to correct the contrast and produce the image in 640×480, 800×600, 1024×768 graphic resolution.

So now comes to the first class service:

You can download Spirit Charge with 3 graphic resolutions:

Spirit Charge 640×480
Spirit Charge 800×600
Spirit Charge 1024×768 (You can leave any comment with your email to get it!)

You can download Spirit Charge Cloudless with 3 graphic resolutions:

Spirit Charge Cloudless 640×480
Spirit Charge Cloudless 800×600
Spirit Charge Cloudless 1024×768 (You can leave any comment with your email to get it!)

Guidance needed

I produced 2 versions of this graphic based on a question, ‘which is better? ‘ I personally think that the first is better but seems the nebula distracted the focus of the crystal and other objects, and the cloudless one, well, it’s really ‘cloudless’ and seems like just some annoying black dots pasted on the graphic.

Well, as you know, I have just started my graphic design work and lack of much professional graphic knowledge, so I hope all of you can give me some comments, thanks and hope you enjoy this graphic!
